CASA of Siskiyou County depends
on community donations to run our program.
Court Appointed Special Advocates is a local 501(3)(c) non profit organization. CASA has a contract with the Administrative Office of the Court to provide service to the Juvenile Court. That contract pays 20% of the cost of the Siskiyou County program. 80% of the program costs must be covered by grants from local foundations and the Siskiyou County Community.
The cost of recruiting, screening, training, and supervising a volunteer advocate is approximately $2,500. The cost in the second year goes down to about $1,000. A typical case lasts about two years and most volunteers spend well over 100 hours getting to know the child and their needs, and then communicating those needs to the Juvenile Court.
For this investment of time and money, children spend less time in foster care and are much less likely to return to state care.
FINANCIAL DONATION
Your donation to CASA of Siskiyou County is used to support the outreach to discover potential advocates in the community, and it is used to sustain the staff that supervises and supports the advocates for all the cases to which CASA of Siskiyou County is assigned by the court. Your donation may also be used to train new advocates and provide on-going educational opportunities to the current advocates.
Supporting CASA of Siskiyou County with a donation now can help to not only sustain, but to expand the existing local program. The goal of our CASA program is to serve all children who come through the foster care system in Siskiyou County, but sadly, we don’t have the resources to do so. Your donation will directly impact the lives of abused children and help ensure that they grow up in safe, permanent, and loving homes.
CASA of Siskiyou County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Every dollar makes a difference!
