Privacy Policy

We respect your right to privacy and will protect it when you visit our website. CASA of Siskiyou County provides this website as a public service — you do not have to provide any personal information in order to enter and browse. The extent and type of information we receive depends on what you do while you are visiting our website.

CASA of Siskiyou County collects no personal information about you when you visit our website, unless you specifically and knowingly choose to provide such information to us.

Our organization does utillize Google Analytics to improve our website, based on the statistics we receive.  To obtain this information, Google Analytics may record your IP address.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you fill out a form or place a donation.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

• To improve our website
(we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)

• To process transactions

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

The email address you provide for order processing, will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order or the CASA of Siskiyou County program.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Database to be only accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private credit card information will not be stored on our servers.

Do we use cookies?

We do not use cookies.  We do, however, use Google Analytics to improve our website based on the information and feedback we receive from you.  Google Analytics may use cookies, so we encourage users not to disable cookies.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Officers of the Court

CASAs are Officers of the Court, with the relevant rights and responsibilities that pertain to this role as defined by the Welfare and Institutions Code. CASAs are volunteer advocates independently appointed by the Juvenile Court and do not work for the Human Services Department (CPS). Each CASA has been requested by, appointed by, and sworn in by a Superior Court Judge. The judge making the appointment has signed an Order, which grants the CASA the authority to review specific relevant documents and interview parties involved in the case, as well as other persons having significant information relating to the child, to the same extent as any other Officer of the Court to investigate proceedings on behalf of the Court. The CASA shall report the results of the investigation to the Court.

Order of Appointment

Upon presentation of the Order of his or her appointment by the CASA, any agency, hospital, school, organization, division or department of the state, physician and surgeon, nurse, other health care provider, psychologist, psychiatrist, police department, or mental health clinic shall permit the CASA to inspect and copy any records relating to the child involved in the case of appointment without the consent of the child or parents. As a reminder, minors have the right to make contact with social workers, attorneys, probation officers, and foster youth advocates, including their CASA, unless otherwise ordered by the Court.

Confidential Records

The CASA shall report the results of their investiagtion to the Court.  All otherwise confidential records and information acquired or reviewed by a CASA during the course of his or her duties shall remain confidential and shall be disclosed only pursuant to a Court Order.
